FAQ
Where can I find you online?
I’m active on YouTube where I post long form videos on all aspects of model railways. But you can also find me on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook all under the name “ThatModelRailwayGuy”
When will the Flexible Drystone Walling be back in stock?
As soon as possible. While that's a bit vague unfortunately it's hard to be more specific. Updates are posted on social media when there is news to share - if there hasn't been an update for a while then there's no news.
Channel Members (not Subscribers) on YouTube will be the first to hear when the Flexible Drystone Walling is back in stock and will have the opportunity to order before everyone else since stock is limited.
Please don’t send emails or DMs as it’s impossible to reply to them all and takes us away from producing more flexible drystone walling. Thank you for understanding.
I love the music! Where do you get it from?
I’m really glad you like it! I work as a professional musician and composer so I write and record all the music on the channel myself for the videos.
I hate the music! Why do you use it?
See above. If you hate the music, you can use the YouTube volume controls to mute the video. Making videos is as much part of the hobby for me as building the layouts and I won’t be changing how I do that anytime soon. Sorry, not sorry.
When will you build your next layout?
I usually do one major layout build per year. If one has just ended then there will likely be a bit of a break while I'm filming and editing the next project.
Keep an eye out for a trailer announcing a new series!
Can you build my layout for me?
No, sorry. I get a lot of requests for this and realistically I don’t have the time alongside making regular videos for the channel. There are several fantastic modellers who do offer this service though so I’d recommend hiring one of them.
Where do I get something you used in a video?
Usually everything I use in a video is listed in the video description along with a link to where you can buy it yourself.
If you discover a link that is broken or out of date please let me know by leaving a comment on the relevant video and I’ll do my best to update it or find a suitable alternative as soon as I can.
How do I get in contact with you?
If you have a question about something you've seen in a video the quickest way to get a response is to leave a YouTube comment as I regularly reply to these.
If you’re having an issue with an order in the Shop, please send an email via the contact page and someone from the team will get back to you.
Please don’t use the email to send in general questions or queries about the hobby or videos as I don't always monitor this personally.
Why do you have ads and sponsored videos?
Good question, essentially because this is my job.
YouTube Ad Revenue is very minimal and so I work with model railway related sponsors to help keep the channel going - it's really no different than having an advert in a magazine.
Generally the sponsored segments tend to be no more than 1 min long in a 10+ min video and you can always just skip it.
