A Slice Of Sodor - Episode 3: Starting The Scenics!

With Ffarquhar now wired up and operational I can finally start work on the scenics. Everything in this episode is leading towards the ballasting which is a major step for any model railway. 

Before that though there are a few key steps which can make your life a lot easier later on. Because I'm using the finescale Bullhead track from PECO on this layout, it does seem a shame not to go the extra mile and weather it. This presented a great opportunity to try out a new technique and breaking things down like this creates a more realistic look.

I also build the platform structures too with a nice stone facade before the ballasting commenced using the True To Scale range! With the scenic work now underway, visually Ffarquhar should start to change a lot as my Slice Of Sodor starts to come to life!
