Pitley Steam Railway

1 of 4

Pitley Steam Railway depicts a preservation line, inspired by my own experiences volunteering at real heritage railways.

Operated by a fleet of small industrial locomotives, the layout captures the charm and character of steam preservation in the UK, showcasing the difference between the pretty public facing stations and the cluttered yards where the volunteers work. With the occasional appearance of larger visiting engines adding variety and interest, there’s always something to see at Pitley.

Built as a modular railway, the layout can be configured in multiple ways—making each setup a unique experience.

Teaton - TT:120

1 of 4

Teaton is a TT:120 scale model railway—an exciting new scale recently introduced to the UK—designed and built especially for my dad.

The layout makes the most of its space with a double-track mainline and a main terminus station set on an upper level. A dedicated goods yard adds operational interest, offering the perfect balance between running fast express trains on the continuous circuit and engaging in detailed shunting operations, showing off the full potential of TT:120.

Gofod Tynn - 009

1 of 4

A compact narrow gauge layout set in the Welsh hills, where a small secluded station once served a nearby slate quarry.

Originally opened in the 1800s, it now survives as a preserved railway. Nestled in a valley between two tunnels, the tight curves of the line mean only the smallest engines can make the journey.

Built entirely inside a suitcase, Gofod Tynn is easy to transport and a great example of how much atmosphere and detail can be packed into a very small space.

North Poleton - 00 / 009

1 of 3

North Poleton is a charming winter-themed layout designed to run around the base of a Christmas tree, capturing the magic of the festive season.

Featuring both 00 gauge and 009 narrow gauge, it brings the little town to life—complete with a brass band playing in the streets and Father Christmas hard at work in his workshop. Mainline trains call at the small station, while the elves keep things moving on the narrow gauge railway.

Compact yet full of detail, North Poleton shows just how much Christmas cheer you can fit into a small space.

Ffarquhar - Coming Soon

1 of 2

Currently under construction is a 00 Gauge recreation of Ffarquhar, originally modelled by the Rev. W. Awdry to depict the final station on Thomas' Branchline.

Using the latest techniques and innovations in the hobby, Ffarquhar features bullhead track, heavy use of 3D printing and laser cutting and will also be fully wired for automatic computer control.

Stay tuned to see the full build series coming soon.
